Portraits, Pampering, and Pure Romance

I’d like to send a shout-out to all of my friends, family, and colleagues who attended my Grand Opening January 27. I was going to write a blog post but, quite frankly, I was more than a bit tired from the week. Admittedly, I was fairly useless the next day. It was a “good tired,” though.

Moving forward you’ll see some new activity with Deb Lorentz Photography. I’ve had a long-term vision to offer contemporary beauty portraiture. This includes everything from classy to sassy. You’ve already seen some of the sassy. I’m looking forward to revealing the classy.

I’ve also created a Model Program for the Class of 2019 high school seniors. The ad will hit the Parkersburg paper Wednesday, January 31. I’m pretty pumped about it. I’ll also offer regular high school senior portrait packages for individuals who don’t want to to participate in the Model Program. I’ve eliminated last year’s Senior Spokesmodel Program.

Thank you for your support! This week alone, I’ve received requests for maternity, childbirth, product, event, sports, and commercial photography. I can do that — all of it! If you have a need, reach out to me. If we’re a good match, we’ll move forward. If not, I’ll recommend someone who can do the job.

There are some types of photography that I do not do. I am not set up for newborn or toddler photography. My current set design does not include posing pillows for newborns or toddler furniture. If you’re looking for someone to capture pictures of your newborn or toddler, I can provide the name of an excellent photographer who can help you. However, if you want to incorporate children into a Mommy & Me, Daddy & Me, or a family portrait, I can do that.

Moving forward I will be blogging more and adding tips for taking good portraits and highlighting more of my photo shoots. I want to share my journey with you. I’ll also write about some personal experiences because I want you to know me and how I got from there to here. You might be a little surprised at my story.

I’m also going to dust off the Snapchat account that I’ve never used to highlight some of my events. Currently, I’m using Facebook and Instagram. More on that later.

Here’s what you can expect to see in my studio. I am creating more than portraits this year. I’m creating experiences.

Let me explain.

I love my studio. Getting that space has been a journey. I want to create beautiful and fun photographic experiences in my studio. That’s why when I’m not taking pictures, I’ll be hosting a variety of events ranging from skincare classes to essential oils classes to Pure Romance classes. I love my work, but I also love having fun. In the two years I’ve been building this business, “fun” has taken a backseat in my life. Just for the fun of it, I’m selling Scentsy in my studio too. I love my “smell goods.”

I’m also going to host Walk-In Wednesday events for individuals who need headshots. This will occur the second Wednesday of every month beginning in February. If there’s interest, I’ll create more openings.

Additionally, I’m excited to offer Girls’ Night Out and Bachelorette parties! We’ll provide the hair and makeup for groups of 4-6 women. You get pampered with a makeover, and then we’ll do some fun individual and group photos that you can purchase. You’ll look so great that you’ll probably want to go out for a night on the town! I’m also considering a Best Friends package for two…but more on that later.

I’m looking for more event photography: dances, recitals, tea parties, sports, etc. I’m open to it.

As always, I’ll continue to take on personal projects. I’ll announce them as I launch them.

I also book a limited number of weddings. I’ll write a separate post about that later.

What you’ll see on my Facebook photography page will basically stay the same; however, you’ll also see hosted events. I’ve created separate Facebook groups for Rodan + Fields, Scentsy, and doTERRA. I do NOT intend to sell these products on the Deb Lorentz Photography page. I’ll only share the events that I’m hosting. If you’re interested in the products I’m offering to live a happier, healthier, and more beautiful life, feel free to reach to attend. I’ll hook you up with the corresponding group. If not, move past it. I understand. These events are not for everyone.

I have a minor disclaimer here: skincare is a huge part of our makeovers. I’m moving toward more of a spa experience, which means I will — from time to time — mention the products we use.

Moving forward, I have a lot to look forward to. I’ll blog about pictures, about some of the community projects I’m connected with, and I’ll probably throw in a motivational blog or two. (I’m really into THAT.)

To those of you who have watched my journey, thank you so much for sticking by my side. To those who have just joined me, welcome. I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures as much as I enjoy taking them.
